HOW TO GET TO LIEGE?

Getting to Liège by car – road number, from:

Brussels : E40
Namur : E42
Aachen : E40
Maastricht : E25
Antwerp : E313

Getting to Liège by train
Take the (high speed) train to the Gare Guillemins which is the central railway station in Liège.

There is a regular bus service to the Palais des Congrès de Liège via bus routes 17 or 138.

The Palais des Congrès de Liège is 10-minute walk from the station, via the « Belle Liégeoise » footbridge.

Getting to Liège by plane :
The national airport is at Zaventem, near Brussels. There is a frequent train service between Zaventem and Liège.

The other airport Charleroi, near Brussels has no train station. You can purchase your tickets on https://www.flibco.com/en or as soon as you walk out of the airport – the Flibco shuttle service is right in front of the door. The easiest way would be to take this bus to Brussels Midi. From Brussels Midi you can find a direct train to Liège. https://www.belgiantrain.be/en

Liège airport is at Bierset, on the E42 motorway.

YUST Hotel & IBIS Styles Liege Guillemins
By Train

Liège-Guillemins station has direct connections to Brussels, Paris, Aachen, Cologne and Frankfurt. Better yet, the station is just a 5-minute walk from YUST Liege.

By Car

The YUST and IBIS Styles Liege Guillemins are easily accessible via the E25, take exit 35 ‘Avroy’ and follow directions to Esplanade Simone Veil.

There is limited parking, please reserve in advance or during check-in. We also have several electric charging stations available.

Here are some ideas for temporary activities taking place during the ELACTA Conference:  

  • Da Vinci, The artist, the engineer, the gourmet, exhibition in the Liège-Guillemins Station
  • Claude Monet Expo Liège: Monet: The Immersive Experience is a 360º digital art exhibition in Liège that invites you to step into the world of the French painter Claude Monet. Location: Saint Pholien church
  • guided tour of the historic centre departing from the tourist office from 2pm to 4pm, for more information call +32 (0)4 221 93 78 or visit Liège Website.
    The guided tour is available in Dutch and French Only, but you may have your own thoughts…

Free of charge activities in Liège:

  • The app Totemus offers two walks in Liège: one in the historic centre and the other on the slopes of the citadel.
  • The app Parcours Simenon created by the university of Liège, retraces Simenon’s youth in Liège and particularly in Outremeuse.
    It offers a range of never-before-seen content, including period photos, audio recordings of extracts from Simenon, and an augmented reality experience.
